The Brian in Love is one of the better books on the subject that I have found. It’s got great information in it and the author backs it up with expertise. I am very glad I took the time to read this book as it has helped me out with some emotional issues.

I thought the chapter dealing with OCD and sexual addiction was particularly interesting. I have to confess, though, that analyzing the effect of certain chemicals on the brain strips much of the romance from the concept of love. But that’s hardly the point. An interesting book on an endlessly entertaining topic.

This was the first Amen book I have read, and I was impressed. The title is a little misleading; he discusses the brain in detail beyond simply the emotion of love. Not only did I learn a great deal of general brain information, the book was personally useful to me-I found out I may have a BG problem (see book for details). My only slight criticism would be from p.54 where he says “Beautiful women make men stupid.” I don’t disagree, but that’s a pretty obvious statement. Notwithstanding this slight criticism, I highly recommend The Brain in Love.
