The Seven Levels of Intimacy: The Art of Loving and the Joy of Being Loved

This is only my point of view, I think some people would greatly enjoy this book and learn a lot from it and I must confess that I haven’t even begun on the chapters which outline the seven levels. I simply wish to point out some problems with the book I see at this point. Every now and then, the author will have an obvious grammatical error. Although not a big deal, these small errors debase his authority over the topic matter and begin to make you more willing to doubt what he’s saying. Secondly, this should not be categorized under Christian Relationships since the target audience seems to be secular. The Bible teaches that we put God first in all that we do, but he believes that our purpose, which has nothing to do with God at all but rather that our purpose in life is to become the best we can. It also makes him look foolish when he asks us what makes good music and answers that its music that encourages us to become the best we can. Basically he believes our purpose is directly connected to everything we do, which, being what he claims it is, sounds silly. But I do like the fact that he seems to be knowledgeable in the area of our need to be intimate, to be known and remembered by people.

I never read it. I gather she liked it. Once you have achieved coming together as one and lost all sense of time and space I think you’re a little past the seventh level.
